Graduate Program Applications

Applications for the 2025 Escient Graduate Program are now open!

We’ve kicked off our search for Graduates who are great communicators, curious learners, and ready to make an impact.

Applications close on August 18.

  • Our 12-month program is designed to launch you into the role of an Escient Consultant upon completion 
  • Dive into real-life, impactful projects alongside Escient consultants and clients 
  • Take on a formal training program to build core skills, knowledge, and capabilities. 
  • Join a supportive Graduate network, learning and navigating the world of consulting together. 
  • Exposure to a breadth of core consulting skills and the opportunity to direct your passion to your favoured consulting capabilities 

Recruitment Process

Step 1. Submit your application

Late July – Mid August

Cover letters mean a lot to us. This is a chance to let your personality shine through. We want to get to know you, more than just where you’ve worked and what you know. Tell about who you are and what makes you tick. Include your CV and cover letter in the application. You can choose the written option or let your authentic self shine through with a video cover letter. It’s up to you!

Step 2. Let's talk

End of July – End of August

Our team will contact all applicants via email or phone for an initial screening conversation. This is a chance to learn more about your motivations for applying and get to know you a little better. 

Step 3. Let's meet

End of July – End of August

Connect with a People & Culture representative for a culture-fit interview, which is an opportunity to bring your CV and Cover Letter to life. We will also take the opportunity to ask you culture-fit questions and encourage you to ask about life at Escient.

Step 4. Case Study Panel Interview

Mid September

For those who are successful, you will be provided with a case study scenario in advance, from which you will formulate a presentation response and deliver it to a panel of Escient consultants. 

Step 5. Offer

Late September

For those successful candidates, you’ll receive a call to proceed with reference checks, followed by verbal and written confirmation of the offer to join Escient.

Graduate Learning Pathway

Alongside real-world, hands-on client experience, our Escient Graduates engage in a comprehensive learning program to build the core skills, knowledge, and capability to develop as an Escient consultant.

Your learning program will be guided by experienced consultants and mentors from across the organisation and from varied specialist capabilities.

Consulting fundamentals

In February, our exciting graduate program kicks off, setting you up with foundational skills that are crucial for a flying start in the consulting world.

Throughout March, we blend hands-on practice with key theoretical knowledge, ensuring you master essential tools in project management, change management, business analysis, and stakeholder management.

This initial phase is all about building confidence and competence, and creating a solid base for your future growth.

Building momentum

From April through to November, you’ll dive deeper into the intricacies of consulting.

This phase is packed with interactive projects and case studies, sharpening your problem-solving skills and enhancing your ability to manage complex stakeholder interactions.

With the guidance from subject matter experts within Escient, you’ll expand your capabilities and truly start to shine in your role. It’s an exciting time filled with growth, challenges, and plenty of learning.

Transitioning up

Wrapping up the year, from December to January, we focus on preparing you for the next big step—becoming a Level 1 Consultant.

We revisit the core skills and polish your application of knowledge in professional settings, all at a pace that suits the season’s quieter vibe.

This phase is about refining your skills, boosting your confidence, and ensuring you’re ready to take on the world of consulting with gusto and poise.

Hands on experience

Throughout your entire graduate journey with us, client engagements remain an integral part of your learning experience.

These opportunities provide you with real-world, hands-on client exposure, allowing you to apply the skills and knowledge acquired during each chapter in a practical context.

Eligibility

Escient encourages life and academic diversity. We value an individual’s aptitude for learning and growth above a defined criterion. We don’t ask for Grade Point Average, but we do require applicants to have completed their studies and be able to commence full-time employment.

We take applications from Australian and international students holding graduate visas. Our only requirements are that you can stay and work in Australia and meet the English language requirements set out by the Department of Home Affairs.

I graduated over 12 months ago, am I still eligible to apply for Escient's Graduate Program?

Absolutely! If you graduated in the last two years with a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or even a Ph.D. degree, you can apply for our graduate program. If it has been a few more years or you already have significant industry experience, it may be worth chatting with us to see if applying for a Consultant-level role is more appropriate.

What does career progression look like at Escient, especially if I'm starting as a Graduate?

After successfully completing our 12-month graduate program, our graduates are promoted to Consultant. We celebrate this milestone across the whole organisation; it’s kind of a big deal. After becoming a consultant, there will be an ongoing focus on your individual development and performance, which is supplemented by our Consultant Development Pathways to guide your future development through all consulting levels and technical competencies.
